Chanson de Geste

Guy Bernard Reichmann takes the form of an epic poem, Reichman's heroes are taken from fantasy stories or Antifa struggles, exhausted and chasing a dream long lost, but more relevant than ever. Reichman asks, through the investigation of the representation of brotherhood and class struggle, what happens when the only ones willing to pick up the racket are not bold nor beautiful.

Consisting of sculptures, reliefs, and objects in a variety of media. Reichman draws a grotesque world, full of contradictions: male-homoerotic machoism, alienated and at the same time full of fellowship. At its center are male figures who iterate in different situations and periods in their lives. The men quarrel, defy, watch and participate in the ferocity, and are represented in a kind of mythological saga with a double penetrating potential: of the sword and of the phallus. At its core is the romantic homoeroticism in which unfulfilled desires are the only possibility for fulfillment.

Curated by OFFNOBANK and hosted at Sadnaot Haomanim gallery, "Chanson de Geste" is on view until December 31, 2022.
