Sling (King David), brings to the fore an infamous prop from a legendary biblical scene. In this scene, the early character of David, prior to becoming a ruling king, takes out a shepherd's sling and stone to defy the giant Goliath, and - much to the crowd's, and his opponent's - shock, succeeds in doing so. In my work, I often find myself dissecting or re-assembling various tools used in warcraft. More specifically, I try to investigate the tender motion between the present-day tensions and the history which lies underneath it all. In a similar manner, the crucial Valley of Elah battle won by nothing more than a stone and a piece of wood, embodies the spirit which fuels wars much more than rocket fuel, electricity or gunpowder. It is the spirit of faith, ever stretching the limits of humanity like a bullet stone stretching the sling's rope.
