666tech Talks Curating His Hyper-Sexual Blue Fantasy
666tech is an highly visual Instagram account that showcases hyper-sexual thirst trap, haute design and queer guys, solely in the color blue, blue screen to be exact. Created by a person who wishes to be anonymous, 666tech collects his imagery from Tumbler, Twitter and people who send and tag his page in their posts, that in some cases were made especially for the account.
666tech spoke to gggaaallleeerrryyy about collecting the color blue and creating a community revolving around it.
gggaaallleeerrryyy: Can you tell us a little bit about how you got started and why you focus on the color blue?
666tech: "It started as a way of spending time, I thought about creating a very visual page from tumbler footage. At the beginning, blue wasn’t my main theme, I wanted to focus on silver and technological appearance, but then I felt like I needed to decide on a color as a theme. Blue first came in different tones and changed into “blue screen” (an error screen displayed on Windows computers following a fatal system error). then i started to search after blue in art and legendary artist Yves Klein came up, master of blue and nudity, I instantly felt we have a match.
gggaaallleeerrryyy: How do people react to your page and how do you think this page influences your audience?
666tech: The page started to get a lot of reactions and followers, and a lot of people wanted to be posted as part of my feed, wearing blue underwear and modeling with blue objects. As it developed, I felt like I’m creating a community of gay men, all connected by this type of blue, people really wanted to be part of my “color project”, asking me to publish their personal life. I feel like today, the page is an extension of gay culture and people want to be part of it. Tagging the page in posts and stories for me to share and repost them. I was intrigued and couldent help but wonder, is it a connection between this type of blue and gay men, or the will to be visible on social media cause people to create contant that fits the theme.
